Is Your Brand Recognizable? Consistent Branding is Paramount to Business Success

Branding, Logos, and Design Icon

Do you use your brand elements consistently?

The logo, colors, fonts, phrases, and symbols that define your brand should always be used consistently in everything you do. While it may sometimes seem boring to you, it doesn’t mean that your brand is boring. These elements are what makes your brand recognizable for customers and prospects!

Not sure where to start?

If you haven’t been using your brand consistently, don’t worry! You don’t need to spend lots of money overhauling every piece of collateral or social media post to get back on track. Start by:

Creating a brand identity board.

Brand Identity Board Example

Also known as a Style Guide or Brand Guidelines, the brand identity board puts all the important elements of your brand in one easy-to-reference place:

  • Logo and variations
  • Color Palette
  • Typography for use in marketing materials
  • Key messaging to include terminology and/or phrases
  • Symbols and other design elements

Distribute this board to anyone who uses or implements your brand or logo, such as sales and marketing personnel, designers, and vendors or partners.

Identify where your brand needs to be updated.

Review your printed collateral, website, social media profiles, graphics (online or otherwise), apparel and/or merch, etc., to make sure that you are staying true to your brand.

Make a list of any areas that need to be updated and put them in order of priority. Not everything needs to be changed all at once. But some changes are more important than others. If the logo on your website is different than what it should be, for example, that is a pretty urgent change to be made!

Start using your brand consistently!

Now that you have your brand identity mapped out in an easy-to-reference way, and you have identified changes that need to be made, you’re ready to move on!

Make sure all new efforts use your brand guidelines and begin working through your prioritized list of changes!
