What is the Gospel?
Gospel means “good news”, and in this world, we all need a little bit of good news!
This world has been broken by sin and we are all separated from God because of it. He is Holy and the source of all truth, knowledge, love, and everything that is good. There is nothing we can do to reconcile ourselves to God. No amount of good works can save us.
” for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” Romans 3:23
But here’s where the Good News comes in!
God sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins ONCE and FOR ALL!
“and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:24
And if you believe that Jesus came to earth, fully God and fully man, was crucified, died, and was resurrected to save us from our sins, then you can be saved!
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
There is now no condemnation. No separation. No punishment.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
You can be right with God and spend eternity with Him in heaven, rather than suffer the eternal punishment in hell that our sins deserve.
This is His Mercy and Grace.
If you want to receive this gift and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you can pray this prayer:
Dear Jesus, I want to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving me and dying on the cross for my sins. Forgive me of my sins. I confess that Jesus is Lord and I surrender my life to you, Jesus. Come into my heart and change me. Thank you for saving me. I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, you are now a new creation!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
You are free from the chains of sin and death!
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” John 5:24
Now, it’s time to get a Bible and get into God’s word. You need to hear from him and learn more about him. Start in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and just keep going!

Here’s a sermon to get you started:
Even though I don’t know you, I’m praying for you – whether you have given your life to Christ or not.
Your life matters! You matter to God and your value and worth is found in Him alone.
The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
